The Virginia Beach Bar Association, in partnership with the Honorable Timothy J. Quick of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court and Virginia Beach Public Schools, is reinstituting the elementary school mentorship program originally founded by the Honorable Thomas S. Shadrick, retired. This program benefits at risk 3rd grade elementary school students at Green Run and Parkway Elementary schools, both Title 1 schools. Mentors will need to commit to at least one visit per month for the 2023/2024 school year. The commitment is minimal and the benefit to the community is significant. We are very excited about this program.
Judge Quick will be overseeing the program with a Bar Association Committee Chair assisting in the administration of the program.
